At Parliament, I raised the issue that VisitLanarkshire and VisitScotland poorly serve my Rutherglen constituency in attracting tourism to the area.

Clare Haughey MSP will hold an advice surgery on Saturday alongside Rutherglen Councillors Janine Calikes and Carol Nugent. The event, which takes place in Rutherglen Exchange from 12.30pm will see officers from the Local Problem Solving Team joining the MSP and Councillors to speak with the public and hear about any local concerns.

Almost a billion pounds will be invested annually to fund the huge expansion of early learning and childcare, transforming the life chances of children in Scotland. Following extensive engagement to reach a shared understanding of the costs of the expansion, Scottish Ministers and COSLA Leaders have reached agreement on a multi-year funding package.

As announced by the Scottish Government's Brexit Minister, no deal has yet been reached between Holyrood and Westminster regarding devolved powers after our withdrawal from the EU. As it stands, the Scottish Government - quite rightly - won't agree to what is on the table.
GENERAL QUESTION ON JUNK FOOD ADVERTISING ON TV BEFORE 9PM
Clare had the opportunity to question the Scottish Government on the action it is taking to improve the food environment for children. Earlier this week, Jamie Oliver, the celebrity chef, sent a letter to the UK Government - which was signed by the First Minister - calling for a ban on junk food advertising before 9pm.
RUTHERGLEN MSP BACKS GLASGOW’S CHANNEL 4 BID
SNP MSP Clare Haughey has written to Glasgow City Council to support their campaign to bring Channel 4 to the city. It is understood that Channel 4 is looking to relocate staff from London to three new ‘creative hubs’, - one of which will act as its national headquarters.
