“I met with Scottish Government Business Minister, Paul Wheelhouse last week and he has agreed to host a roundtable meeting in Rutherglen on 17th May where the relevant agencies will update elected representatives and stakeholders on the extensive work which has already been carried out to support employees through this difficult time.

“Mr Wheelhouse will be joined by Scottish Government officials, representatives from South Lanarkshire Council, Scottish Enterprise, Business Gateway and Skills Development Scotland. I am appreciative of all the work that the Council, the Scottish Government and their agencies have been doing to support the employees and mitigate the impact of this devastating closure on the local community.”
