At Parliament, I raised the issue that VisitLanarkshire and VisitScotland poorly serve my Rutherglen constituency in attracting tourism to the area.
I’m incredibly proud to represent the constituency which takes in Scotland’s oldest Royal Burgh, the David Livingstone Memorial Centre, Cuningar Loop Park, and many more great venues, however our tourism agencies are letting them down.
The VisitLanarkshire website doesn’t even have any of the communities within my Rutherglen constituency on their map.
Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Halfway and Blantyre have much to offer those from further afield, and I will continue to push the relevant agencies to ensure they are ‘put on the map’.
