Blantyre MSP Clare Haughey is hosting an advice surgery in Blantyre on Monday 1st October for constituents who have been affected by the alleged mis-selling of solar panels.

Clare comments on the ongoing closure of the Post Office on Rutherglen Main Street.

NHS Lanarkshire is to benefit from an additional £1.16 million of funding from the Scottish Government to help cope with added pressures over the winter months as part of an additional £10 million being allocated across all Scottish Health Boards.

A fund which aims to help children and young people become more confident in order to realise their potential has re-opened for applications (Thursday 30th August). Rutherglen MSP Clare Haughey has urged local groups to apply if they are eligible.

MSP Clare Haughey has welcomed the first tranche of payments of the Scottish Government’s Carers Allowance Supplement which started to be paid to eligible claimants this week (10th September).

Last week, firefighters and staff hosted guests at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service National Training Centre in Cambuslang to demonstrate the new cutting-edge technology. In attendance were Rutherglen MSP Clare Haughey, the leader of South Lanarkshire Council Cllr John Ross, and Ash Denham MSP, the Scottish Government’s new community safety minister.

MSP Clare Haughey has welcomed the news that carers across Rutherglen and Cambuslang will receive the first payments of the new Carer’s Allowance Supplement from mid-September, back-dated to April.
