RUTHERGLEN MSP CONGRATULATES SPORTY SCHOOLS

Rutherglen MSP Clare Haughey has welcomed the news that six local schools have been the recipients of sportscotland’s School Sport Awards.

Funded by the National Lottery, the sportscotland School Sport Award encourages schools to continuously improve physical education and school sport opportunities. The award also promotes sporting links between schools and the communities around them.

Locally, St Mark’s Primary School won the Gold sportscotland School Sport Award, and Burgh, Cairns, Loch, Parkview and St Cadoc’s primary schools all achieved the Silver Award in the latest round of awards.

Rutherglen MSP Clare Haughey has congratulated the schools on their successes.

Commenting, Clare Haughey MSP said:

“I extend my sincere congratulations to staff and pupils at St Mark’s, Burgh, Cairn, Loch, Parkview and St Cadoc’s primary schools for their fantastic achievements. It’s brilliant to see our local schools receiving recognition for their outstanding provision of high quality opportunities in physical education.

“Rutherglen and Cambuslang schools are once again showing they are top of the class!”
