For immediate release:
NOMINATION DEADLINE FOR YOUNG SCOT AWARDS NEARS
Rutherglen MSP Clare Haughey is encouraging constituents to nominate inspiring young people for this year’s Young Scot Awards.
The Young Scot Awards is Scotland’s biggest celebration of young people and groups aged 11-26 who have made a difference to the lives of others.
The Rutherglen MSP previously met with former nominees and winners of the Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards, as well as Year of Young People 2018 Ambassadors onboard the Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards Citylink bus tour outside of the Scottish Parliament.
The deadline for nominations is the 12th August.
Commenting, Clare Haughey MSP said:
“Through my work in my Rutherglen constituency, I hear about so many brilliant young people who make real differences to other people’s lives. Whether it’s someone who volunteers their time to help those less fortunate or someone whose bravery and courage has helped save a life, there are countless people across Scotland who deserve recognition and our praise.
“I’m encouraging all my constituents to nominate someone for the Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards especially this year when we are all celebrating the Year of Young People 2018.”
Louise Macdonald, Chief of Young Scot added:
“The Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards will be Scotland’s biggest celebration of young people this year. Everyone knows a young person who inspires them through kindness, their actions or their drive to make their community better.
“We want to hear about them all.”
