For immediate release:
OVER 9 OUT OF 10 PATIENTS IN SCOTLAND SATISFIED WITH NHS
New polling published by YouGov shows an overwhelming 93% of the Scottish population is satisfied with the service received from the NHS.
Over the past 6 months a majority of the population has had some engagement with NHS services in Scotland. Across all genders, age groups and social groups and regardless of political preferences most were satisfied with their personal experience. 100% of Lib Dem voters and 98% of Conservative voters were satisfied with the service they received from Scotland’s health service.
Commenting, Rutherglen MSP and mental health nurse Clare Haughey said:
“First and foremost the satisfaction with our NHS is testament to the incredible hard work by nurses, doctors and all staff working in our health service day in, day out.
“Scotland has an NHS we should be rightly proud of, the best in the UK and, clearly, rising to the challenges it faces.
“But the Scottish Government will never rest on our laurels when it comes to healthcare. We’re striving for further improvements to ensure we have an NHS fit for the future. That’s why we’re investing over £400 million more in health this year, increasing spending to a record level of £13.6 billion.
“That’s why we’re investing billions in new health infrastructure – new hospitals, emergency care centres and local healthcare facilities in communities across the country.
“While these are very encouraging satisfaction levels, we’ll continue to invest and improve over the years ahead.”
