Peatland Restoration

Peatlands are an amazing natural resource; they’re great for wildlife and the environment as they provide habitat, clean water, and they capture climate-changing carbon.

We are fortunate enough to have quite a few peatlands areas in South Lanarkshire, and The Friends of Langlands Moss is a great place to find out more.

The Scottish Government is spending £10 million on Peatland Restoration during 2017-18 and has made this means of storing carbon a central plank of its long-term Climate policy, which was debated in the Chamber on Thursday.
