I was honoured to be able to participate in a debate in the Scottish Parliament marking International Women’s Day – alongside so many strong female MSPs across the political divide. Whilst we are in the fortunate position to be elected politicians, many women across Scotland and the UK are still subject to poorer working conditions than their male counterparts.

GENERAL QUESTION ON PROPOSED CLOSURE OF 2 SISTERS FACTORY
Today at Parliament, I was able to further highlight the proposed closure of the 2 Sisters factory in Cambuslang. This is the second occasion that I have raised the issue in Holyrood, and the second occasion that I have been reassured by the Scottish Government’s response.

On the 28th February, Clare questioned the Scottish Government's Cabinet Secretary for Justice on the funding made available by the government to tackle drug misuse.
DEBATE ON EATING DISORDERS AWARENESS WEEK
Rutherglen MSP and mental health nurse Clare Haughey last week (28th February) led a Scottish Parliament debate marking Eating Disorders Awareness Week. The awareness week, running from 26th February to 4th March, encourages people to ask for help if they notice symptoms of an eating disorder.
MINISTERIAL STATEMENT ON THE EU CONTINUITY BILL
On the 28th February, the Lord Advocate appeared to the chamber of the Scottish Parliament to answer questions on the Scottish Government's EU Continuity Bill - which will protect Scotland's laws during the Brexit process.
