CLARE HAUGHEY WELCOMES CHILD POVERTY DELIVERY PLAN

SNP MSP Clare Haughey has welcomed a range of Scottish Government proposals to tackle child poverty – including plans for a new income supplement, which will provide financial support to families who need it most. Increasing family incomes and reducing living costs are prioritised in the Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan, which sets out how the Scottish Government will meet ambitious legal targets to tackle child poverty.

RUTHERGLEN AND CAMBUSLANG PROJECTS SEE WINDFALL FROM CLIMATE CHALLENGE FUND

SNP MSP Clare Haughey has praised organisations from Rutherglen and Cambuslang who have been awarded bumper grants due to their efforts in cutting carbon emissions. The Climate Challenge Fund, an initiative launched by the Scottish Government to combat climate change, has helped over 1,000 projects across Scotland since its inception – with over £100 million in funding being awarded over the last decade.

MSP CONDEMNS NEWTON FARM BROADBAND PROVISION

Rutherglen MSP, Clare Haughey, has condemned house builders in the Newton Farm area of Cambuslang for not providing superfast broadband in new build developments. The SNP MSP has been campaigning on the issue of poor broadband provision in Newton Farm since her election, and has welcomed recent assurances from Openreach that one fibre cabinet in the area will be upgraded by the end of April this year, with another due to be upgraded within 12 months.
