On Wednesday 15th November, I was given the opportunity to take part in a debate on Personal and Social Education (PSE).
Our young people are living increasingly complex lives, and schools through the teaching of PSE can help them cope with these pressures. The subject plays a crucial role in educating pupils on sex and relationships, mental health, and issues like alcohol and drug misuse.
My speech highlighted some of the great work of schools in my constituency – like Trinity and Cathkin – whose teaching of PSE is an example to be followed.
